I was following up on a couple of items recently that made me quite wonder what sort of justice system is proned. The first thing that really puzzled me quite a bit was the corruption that is taking place in our politics. It used to be hush hush and people would actually attempt to appear honest. Today, it seems that there is not even a need for such a procedure. Two perfect examples are the Hydro president, who was caught stealing money from us beloved tax-payers. Usually, in a fair society with a good justice system, a thief is punished for his crimes and the damages are attended to. In Canada, apparently we have chosen a different strategy. We reward thieves by giving them a severance package so ridiculous that the rest of the honest employees would have to wonder why they should actually work. Then to top it off, we give the guy full pension benefits for two years and a bunch of other gift packages. The only thing missing is a thank you card for stealing from society. Now of course, as you all know, recently the lotto dude pulled the same prank and he also got his package and gift set and pension to go to. I think we are in the wrong field here. We need to join the government and steal away. Now while this is going on, I was reading about people’s reaction and the apathy and general carelessness completely shocks me. The general response is all politicians are crooks. If that’s the case, then maybe we need to get rid of all politicians and put another system in place… Just my 2 cents.
